Joining SGA means becoming part of a community committed to leadership, service, and meaningful change. We encourage you to become a member and help shape the future of Missouri State University.

SGA, like our United States Federal Government, is separated into three branches: executive, legislative, and judicial. Read below for more information on each branch and how to apply.

The executive branch, led by the student body president, is made up of the SGA leadership, chief financial officer, chief communications officer, chief elections commissioner, chief sustainability commissioner, chief wyrick commissioner, and chief outreach and development commissioner. Students can join the communications, elections, sustainability, wyrick, and outreach and development commissions by becoming an executive commissioner. Spots are limited to six students each.

The legislative branch, led by the student body vice president, is made up of several committees, including academic affairs, administrative services, public affairs and advocacy, health and interpersonal wellness, information services, and student affairs. Students can join the legislative branch by becoming a senator. Senators may represent a student organization, their class, or the student body at-large. Registered student organizations are allowed two senators to represent them. If a student wishes to represent their class or the student body at-large, they must obtain 50 signatures of support from Missouri State University students.

SGA meetings will be held in PSU 313 at 5:30 pm every Tuesday. Senators are required to attend these meetings while commissioners are only encouraged.
