Description: The Student Body President represents and advocates for the student body while leading collaborative efforts across campus. Partners with the Student Activities Council to ensure student interests are reflected in programming and initiatives. Builds connections with presidents of other student organizations to expand engagement and communication. Promotes awareness of campus issues, current events, and legislative actions impacting students. Engages regularly with student body to gather feedback on initiatives, projects, and concerns. Oversees revisions to the Student Initiative Fund to better support student needs and organizational goals. Researches and develops plans for the Missouri Higher Education Consortium to strengthen future statewide collaboration.
Description: The Student Body Vice President supports the legislative branch by advancing transparency, collaboration, and student representation across campus. Maintains and updates the SGA resolution database to ensure accurate legislative records. Develops and implements a progress tracking system for ongoing projects and initiatives. Encourages coordinated action between Faculty, Staff, and Student Senate to strengthen shared governance. Leads a peer-mentoring program to prepare future student government leaders. Advocates for increased student representation on University Council and key university committees to elevate the student voice in institutional decision-making.
Description: The Chief of Staff strengthens internal operations and supports executive leadership within SGA. Creates and manages the SGA project request form to streamline communication and workflow. Collaborates with University Archives to maintain organized and efficient records. Transfers SGA documents from Google Drive to Microsoft Office to improve accessibility and consistency. Assists the President and Vice President in creating and updating SGA guides and manuals to support continuity and institutional knowledge.
Description: The Senior Class President leads initiatives that support students during their final year at Missouri State. This role coordinates senior-focused programming, traditions, and engagement opportunities to strengthen class pride and community. The Senior Class President gathers feedback from students, advocates for their needs within SGA, and collaborates with campus partners to ensure a meaningful and memorable final-year experience.
Description: The Speaker Pro Tempore serves as Speaker of the Senate in absence of the Student Body Vice President, and plays a key leadership role within the legislative branch of SGA. This position assists with reviewing amendments to the SGA Constitution and Bylaws and organizing and facilitating Senate meetings. This position leads the internal affairs committee, trains new senators on parliamentary procedure, and serves as the OSE liaison.
Description: This commission will oversee all communications, marketing, publicity, and branding of SGA, including but not limited to the SGA Website, social media, and reports to university officials. This commission will review press releases and statements to The Standard and similar publications while ensuring accuracy and integrity of the organization’s values. The Chief Communications Officer will assist in gathering feedback from students through forums and surveys. This position will work closely with the President to communicate with the student body in a suitable manner.
Description: This commission oversees all regular and special elections of the SGA. This commission must also monitor the behavior of the candidates in campaigns to ensure adherence to the SGA Constitution, Bylaws, and city, state, and federal statutes. Description: The Chief Financial Officer must, in conjunction with the Student Body President and SGA Advisor, annually formulate the SGA Budget. The Chief Financial Officer will be in charge of all financial transactions involving SGA, must keep a financial record of all money spent during the University's fiscal year, and provide written reports at least twice a year regarding the financial status of the SGA. The Chief Financial Officer will monitor and review all non-academic student services fees and make recommendations to the Student Body President regarding the expenditure of the fees collected.

Description: This commission focuses on the professional development of the organization's members through membership programming and community service opportunities. This role oversees member recruitment and retention efforts by coordinating tabling events and engaging with student organizations. Additionally, it collaborates with the Chief Communications Officer to conduct research and gather student feedback.
Description: Academic Affairs bridges students and the academic policies or decisions that affect them. This role advocates for fair, accessible, and enriching educational experiences, focusing on curriculum, advising, textbook affordability, faculty-student relationships, and academic success initiatives and policies. Academic affairs will work closely with members of the Provost Office and Faculty Senate.
Description: This role oversees student concerns about campus safety, transportation, facilities, and emergency preparedness. It focuses on improving the student experience in physical campus spaces and partners with departments like University Safety and Facilities Management to advocate for safe and efficient services.
Description: The Public Affairs and Advocacy position supports Missouri State’s mission by promoting ethical leadership, community engagement, and cultural competence. This role helps foster a welcoming and respectful campus environment by encouraging dialogue, collaboration, and awareness across the student body around identity and belonging, representing marginalized communities in SGA decision-making, highlighting student voices, and supporting efforts that enhance the university's commitment to civic responsibility and student success. This position will work closely with a variety of offices, including, but not limited to, the Student Resource Center, International Programs, and Public Affairs Support.
Description: This merged role with Interpersonal Violence Prevention will focus on supporting the mental, emotional, and physical well-being of students. This committee will collaborate with Magers Health and Wellness, the Foster Recreation Center, the Counseling Center, and other relevant campus resources to promote a healthier campus community. Additionally, this individual will work to prevent interpersonal violence and promote the welfare of students within interpersonal relationships. This includes, but is not limited to programming, education, and raising awareness within the campus community.
Description: Information Services addresses student needs related to technology, digital platforms, and communication systems at Missouri State. The role ensures access to reliable tech resources (like Wi-Fi, My Missouri State, etc.), advocates for tech improvements, and promotes digital inclusion and transparency within the student experience. This role also designs and updates the SGA website.
Description: Student Affairs serves as the voice of the student body regarding student life. This role focuses on student engagement, organizations, campus events, and the general quality of student experiences outside the classroom. It also liaises with departments like residence life, student activities, and Student Affairs. This position will meet regularly with the Vice President of Student Affairs, Dr. Dee Siscoe, and attend several meetings led by Dr. Siscoe on behalf of SGA.
Description: The President of the Graduate Student Senate serves as the official voice of the graduate student body and acts as the Director of Graduate Studies within the Student Government Association. In this capacity, the President advocates for the academic, professional, and campus-life needs of graduate students, ensuring their perspectives are represented in SGA decision-making and university conversations. They oversee the work of the Graduate Student Senate, facilitate meetings, guide legislative and advocacy efforts, and collaborate with SGA leadership, university administrators, and campus partners to advance initiatives that strengthen the graduate student experience.
Description: The Secretary of Senate is responsible for maintaining accurate records of Senate meetings, tracking legislation, and ensuring transparency within the legislative branch of SGA. This role ensures continuity, supports communication between senators, and keeps historical records organized and accessible. The Secretary will also keep an up-to-date event calendar for members of SGA to view.
