
Kristen Sanocki was elected Student Body Vice President on
April 7, 2009 for a term ending in May of 2010. Kristen is a senior, Political
Science Major and Economics Minor from Jefferson City, Missouri.
For the past three years, Kristen has been active in the
Student Government Association. She served as a freshman at-large senator,
followed by two years as the Director of Political Activities. During her
tenure as Director of Political Activities, Kristen led the effort to register
over 1,000 voters on campus and shuttled over 800 students to the polls on
Election Day. She founded and organized the Missouri Higher Education
Consortium (MHEC), a lobbying organization that is comprised of the 13 public institutions
of higher education, to represent student issues on the state governmental
level.
In addition to her involvement in Student Government
Association, Kristen has been active in College Republicans. She currently
serves as the statewide treasurer and fundraiser for the Missouri College
Republicans and has previously held the position of President, Vice President,
and Executive Director on the chapter level. In this capacity, she has worked
on several local, state, and national campaigns.
Kristen was selected to serve as a legislative intern for
the Majority Caucus Chairman, 140th District State Representative
Bob Dixon in 2008. Currently, Kristen is a University Ambassador and charter
member of the Delta Nu chapter of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority.
In addition to her duties as Vice President, Kristen is
active in the community. She is a proud member of the Junior League of
Springfield and serves on the Springfield Complete Count Census Committee. In
her spare time, she enjoys reading, campaigning, and general politics. Upon
graduation, Kristen will pursue a degree in law.
