My name is John Maddux and I am the Speaker Pro Tempore. I am a junior and a biology education major. My intent is to teach high school science. My job as elected speaker of the senate is to ensure that the SGA functions efficiently and ethically. SGA has been a commitment of mine since I started my freshman year and is still a high priority for me. I am also active in Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity and have served as chapter vice president for the last few months. In my time at the university I have also served as a Resident Assistant, a SOAR Leader, and most recently a Peer Leader. I am also the student voting member of the university Information Technology Council.

Being chosen to be the Speaker by my fellow senators is indeed a great honor. This year we will be working on several projects designed to make the Student Senate better able to serve the students of Missouri State. I look forward to a great year for SGA.
